Duck Donuts® Kicks Off the New Year with Fundraising Campaign to Support Local Four Diamonds Mini-THON®s

Duck Donuts to Support 45 Schools Across Pennsylvania in an Effort to Raise Money for Four Diamonds

With the goal to help raise funds to conquer childhood cancer, Allentown, Hershey, Lancaster, Mechanicsburg, Pittsburgh and State College Duck Donuts locations are teaming up with 45 local schools to support their Mini-THON® fundraising efforts. Mini-THON events are modeled after the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THONTM), a year-long fundraising and awareness campaign benefitting Four Diamonds, an organization that funds various treatments and support programs to aid in the fight against childhood cancer at Penn State Children’s Hospital.

Now though Jan. 22, select Pennsylvania Duck Donuts locations will donate 10 percent of a customer’s order to the participating school of the guest’s choice. Guests must present the Mini-THON flyer or mention the fundraiser at time of purchase in order for the school to receive credit. Customers who do not have a tie to a specific school also have the opportunity to round up their change to the nearest dollar, which will be donated back to Four Diamonds.

“Our 2018 Mini-THON campaign in Central Pennsylvania was well received by students and the community and we are excited to expand our campaign across the state, giving us the opportunity to make a larger impact,” said Russ DiGilio, founder and CEO of Duck Donuts Franchising Company. “We look forward to another year of fundraising and working with the enthusiastic students as we work together in the fight to conquer childhood cancer.”

“We are honored to partner with Duck Donuts for this unique fundraising and awareness opportunity,” said Katie Anderson, Associate Director of Four Diamonds. “Any time we can align our local Mini-THONs with a corporation that is willing to give back and support our mission of conquering childhood cancer, is a win-win!”

Duck Donuts specializes in warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts. Customers can create their own donut combination by choosing from a variety of coatings, toppings and drizzles, including traditional favorites such as chocolate icing with sprinkles and more adventurous creations such as maple icing with bacon. The family-friendly stores offer a viewing area where children and adults alike can watch their donuts being made. Duck Donuts also sells coffee, tea, donut breakfast sandwiches and now offers online ordering in many locations. ABOUT DUCK DONUTS

Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 by Russ DiGilio in Duck, North Carolina. His intention? To solve a family vacation problem: “Our family wanted a place to buy warm, delicious, made-to-order donuts, and when we couldn’t find one, we decided to start our own.”

By 2011, Duck Donuts had expanded to four Outer Banks locations and the donut business was so successful that DiGilio was continuously approached about franchise opportunities by fans who begged for a Duck Donuts in their community. The first franchise opened in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 2013, and there are now 77 open franchise locations and more than 145 additional contracts in 25 states and two countries.
