Duck Donuts Will Award The Vista School During In-store Check Presentation Today at 9:30 a.m.

MECHANICSBURG, PA (July 19, 2017) – The Duck Donuts in Hershey will present its inaugural Quack Gives Back donation to The Vista School, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives and giving hope to individuals and their families living with autism throughout Central Pennsylvania. The $1,145 contribution will benefit The Vista School’s Playground Project.

Duck Donuts will honor The Vista School PTO with an in-store check presentation today at 9:30 a.m. at the Duck Donuts located at 261 W Chocolate Avenue in Hershey. The Vista School President Shanan Vanatta and Development Director Linda Whipple will join Duck Donuts Franchise Owner Todd Plummer at the celebration.

“We cannot think of a better way to begin building relationships in the Hershey area than having the opportunity to give back to our local community through our Quack Gives Back program,” said Plummer. “We are thrilled to be donating a percentage of our June sales, honoring The Vista School PTO as our first Quack Gives Back recipient and we look forward to continuing to raise awareness on autism.”

Duck Donuts emphasizes the importance of giving back to the local community through its Quack Gives Back initiatives every month and national corporate partnership with Chemo Duck. The Quack Gives Back program promotes partnering with community groups to raise awareness and funds for their causes. Customers can nominate a specific charity, organization, person or a team that is looking for community support. To submit a nomination, customers can fill out a submission form at their local Duck Donuts explaining why their nominee is deserving or what the donation will support.

“We are so grateful to Duck Donuts of Hershey for dedicating their initial Quack Gives Back to The Vista School PTO,” said Vanatta. “What a terrific response from the community! This generous donation will help us to build a state-of-the-art, multi-sensory playground at The Vista School in collaboration with Carter’s Kids.”

ABOUT DUCK DONUTS

Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 by Russ DiGilio in Duck, North Carolina. His intention? To solve a family vacation problem: “Our family wanted a place to buy warm, delicious, made-to-order donuts, and when we couldn’t find one, we decided to start our own.”

By 2011, Duck Donuts had expanded to four Outer Banks locations and the donut business was so successful that DiGilio was continuously approached about franchise opportunities and by fans who begged for a Duck Donuts in their communities. The first franchise opened in Williamsburg, VA, in 2013, and there are now 48 open franchise locations and more than 120 additional contracts.
