Buckhead Duck Donuts® Launches Inaugural Quack Gives Back Program Supporting Atlanta Mission

To Kick Off the Season of Giving, Duck Donuts Will Donate Percentage of November’s Sales to Atlanta Mission

Monday, Nov. 20, 50 Percent of Proceeds Will Be Donated to Organization

The newly opened Duck Donuts in Buckhead is kicking off the season of giving by donating a percentage of November’s sales to its inaugural Quack Gives Back charity, Atlanta Mission. The nonprofit is dedicated to providing overnight shelter, job attainment programming, long-term residential discipleship programming and transitional housing for homeless men, women and children in Atlanta daily.

“At Duck Donuts Buckhead, we understand the importance of giving back to our local community,” said André Walters, chairman and CEO of The A. Shawn Group and A. Shawn Atlanta, LLC, owners of the new store in Atlanta. “We have anticipated the launch of our Quack Gives Back initiative and are proud to partner with the Atlanta Mission, a nonprofit that depends on community support especially during this time of year.”

In addition to the monthly giving, on Monday, Nov. 20, customers have the opportunity to make an even larger impact, as Duck Donuts Buckhead will donate 50 percent of its sales to the Atlanta Mission. The staff of Duck Donuts Buckhead will also deliver Duck Donuts to one of the local shelters.

“Atlanta Mission is incredibly grateful for partnerships like this one with Duck Donuts and people around our city,” said Rachel Reynolds, Atlanta Mission public relations and communications manager. “Without these partners we could not take care of the 1,000 homeless men, women and children across our city.”

Duck Donuts emphasizes the importance of giving back to the local community through its Quack Gives Back initiatives and national corporate partnership with Gabe’s Chemo Duck Program. The Quack Gives Back program promotes partnering with community groups to raise awareness and funds for their causes. Customers can nominate a specific charity, organization, person or a team that is looking for community support. To submit a nomination, customers can fill out a submission form at their local Duck Donuts explaining why their nominee is deserving or what the donation will support.

Located at 3655 Roswell Road NE, Unit 210, in the Tuxedo Festival Shopping Center, the Buckhead Duck Donuts specializes in warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts. Upon entering the store, customers are welcomed with the aroma of warm, light vanilla cake donuts. Customers can choose from a variety of topping combinations, including traditional favorites such as chocolate icing with sprinkles and more adventurous creations such as maple icing with bacon. The family-friendly stores offer a viewing area where children and adults alike can watch their donuts being made.

Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 by Russ DiGilio in Duck, North Carolina. His intention? To solve a family vacation problem: “Our family wanted a place to buy warm, delicious, made-to-order donuts, and when we couldn’t find one, we decided to start our own.”

By 2011, Duck Donuts had expanded to four Outer Banks locations and the donut business was so successful that DiGilio was continuously approached about franchise opportunities by fans who begged for a Duck Donuts in their community. The first franchise opened in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 2013, and there are now 53 open franchise locations and more than 130 additional contracts in 23 states.
