Duck Donuts® Brings Back Zestful Fan Favorite Flavor for Spring

Limited-time Citrus and Easter Assortment Featuring Key Lime Icing Available at all Duck Donuts Locations

Duck Donuts, known for serving Warm, Delicious and Made-to-Order® donuts is ready to say hello to spring with the return of a seasonal favorite, Key lime icing. This specialty citrus icing, made with fresh lime zest and juice, is available now through the summer season at all Duck Donuts locations.

“It was a combination of the fresh ingredients used in our Key lime icing paired with a warm donut that had Duck Donuts fans nationwide asking us to bring back this spring-inspired flavor after its debut last year,” said Russ DiGilio, CEO and founder of Duck Donuts. “We are excited to once again offer Key lime icing throughout all of our locations, giving our customers the opportunity to create even more unique donut combinations with this flavor.”

In addition to Key lime icing, customers can enjoy fresh and fruity flavors in the seasonal Citrus Assortment. Available until June 2, this assortment includes combinations such as Key lime icing with graham cracker crumbs, lemon icing with coconut flakes, and cinnamon sugar with Key lime drizzle. Add a little spring to your step with new espresso beverages including S’mores Mocha, Honey Cinnamon Latte and Caramel Nut Latte, available hot or iced.*

Ideal for family gatherings and celebrations, all Duck Donuts locations will feature an Easter Assortment, April 13-21. The eggs-citing assortment contains a limited-time donut combination, vanilla icing with green sprinkles and chocolate Easter eggs, and classics such as strawberry icing with rainbow sprinkles and cinnamon sugar with vanilla drizzle.

Duck Donuts specializes in warm, delicious, and made-to-order donuts. Customers can create their own donut combination by choosing from a variety of coatings, toppings, and drizzles, including traditional favorites such as chocolate icing with sprinkles and more adventurous creations such as maple icing with bacon. The family-friendly stores offer a viewing area where children and adults alike can watch their donuts being made. Duck Donuts also sells coffee, tea, donut breakfast sandwiches and now offers online ordering in many locations. To learn more about local promotions or locate the nearest Duck Donuts, visit

Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 by Russ DiGilio in Duck, North Carolina. His intention? To solve a family vacation problem: “Our family wanted a place to buy warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts, and when we couldn’t find one, we decided to start our own.”

By 2011, Duck Donuts had expanded to four Outer Banks locations and the donut business was so successful that DiGilio was continuously approached about franchise opportunities by fans who begged for a Duck Donuts in their community. The first franchise opened in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 2013, and there are now 78 open franchise locations in two countries and more than 145 additional contracts in 26 states.
